The Artarmon Road project transformed a dated 90s extension into a contemporary, family-friendly home while preserving the heritage-protected facade.

The renovation included demolishing the old extension and wraparound deck, creating space for a modern open-plan kitchen with a polished slab and hydronic heating. A spacious parents’ retreat with an open ensuite was added, and the entire property was reroofed with skylights to highlight the cathedral ceilings. A floating slab system addressed the challenge of the original home being built on sand.

Attention to detail was paramount, with concealed air conditioning grills, a hidden wine fridge under the kitchen bench, and sophisticated wood panelling used to hide services. Outdoor enhancements included comprehensive landscaping and decking screening to improve home efficiency.
